This week, I'd like to focus on the discussion of scheduling here in Fort Lauderdale.
Day 1 - I was voted in, in my current term. I was asked by your fellow Base Executives /Executive Board members and TWU International this question .. What was the most critical issue affecting your base?
My Answer to Everyone, loud and Clear! Quality of Life! 4 leg Pairings! Your voice was made known. I immediately requested action from our Executive Board on solutions to solving this huge pain point in our base.
Our CBA 7.E Strictly discusses our Scheduling Committee meeting with the company and "Discuss Pairing Construction.."
So I'd ask, Why is the company refusing to restore our quality of life here in FLL?
Is it just about $$$?
Why are FLL members being forced to work long duty days with minimum credit?
I've asked these questions directly to Company Management.
These are some of the hard questions I'd be asking...
We all know the moral continues to get worse.
We are the face of the airline.
With your Vote, I will continue advocating for each of you in my next term.
More to come...

This week I'd like to discuss how we've held the company accountable in our last three years here in Fort Lauderdale.
My job as your Base Executive is for upholding our CBA and Operation of the Base for you our members.
Back in 2023, we encountered some of the worst flooding in years here. Once the 2nd day of rain continued, we knew there would be issues.
The company unfortunately didn't give us the respect we deserved. When our members were forced with a decision of turning around or risking their lives in flooded water ways. The company's response was "Well, they can call out sick!" "Well, what do they want?"
This tone from the company was completely unacceptable. I immediately demanded a meeting with the company and senior management.
We asked the company point blank, "If you were headed to work and had to either decide on risking your life or turning around and going home and get dependability points, what would you do?". The company answered, "Of course, I'd go back home." We advocated to the company, to take a hard look at their dependability policies regarding these "Act of God" Scenarios.
It's situations like this, where we push back and demand respect.
We are the face of the airline. We need to be treated as such.
